Hip Hop

 A form of hip-hop appealed to Hispanics with tunes that reflected life on the outskirts of Barcelona. Spanish hip-hop also resonated with working-class listeners because of its humorous lyrics and messages. Hip-Hop fans would gather in Zaragoza, located about 200 miles west of Barcelona, to see performances by Violadores del Version, one of Spain's most influential hip-hop groups. Because of their doomsday messages, the group's lyrics appealed particularly to young fans.
